John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) (tel. 718-244-4444) is located about 25km southeast of downtown Manhattan. The easiest way of getting downtown is to take the AirTrain JFK (www.airtrainjfk.com), then the subway.

LaGuardia Airport (tel. 718-533-3400) is located 13km east of Manhattan. The New York Airport Service Express Bus (tel. 718-875-8200) runs to Manhattan every 15 to 30min.

By Car
We strongly recommend that you leave your car in one of New York's many garages during your stay; taxis, walking and public transit will keep you out of the city's traffic jams, and you won't need to give yourself headaches trying to find parking.

By Taxi
A great many taxis roam the streets of New York City. They are cheap and most of the time, all you have to do is raise your arm to hail one.

By Public Transportation
MTA New York City Transit (tel. 718-330-1234, www.mta.info) operates the New York City subway system and its 468 stations, which makes it the world's most extensive subway system.
