Finding your way around
By Plane
Suvarnabhumi International Airport (www.bangkokairportonline.com) is the Thai capital's main airport. It is located 30km east of the city centre and accessible by taxi or bus (Airport Express).
By Bus
Thai buses cover the better part of the territory and travel all the way to Malaysia. Bangkok's main bus stations are Sai Tai Taling Chan, Ekamai and Morchit.
By Train
Most trains headed to cities across Thailand, as well as Malaysian destinations, leave from the Hua Lamphong train station (tel. 2 220-44-44, www.railway.co.th).
By Public Transportation
Bangkok has a diverse public transport system, with buses, the SkyTrain (Bangkok Mass Transit System, www.bts.co.th) the metro (MRT, www.bangkokmetro.co.th) and boats (Chao Phraya Express Boat, tel. 2 623-61-43) covering the city. For a more authentic experience (and a few thrills and chills), try taking a motorbike taxi or a tuk-tuk, Bangkok's famous three-wheel motorized taxi.
