The Bayswater Brasserie is one of the “it” places in Kings Cross. This impressive bistro-style venue has a varied, Australian-accented menu that features meat, fish and delicious desserts. The polished decor under a lovely glass canopy make this a real find considering the price.

Blue Orange Restaurant

This is a relaxed hangout by day, with its tables spilling out into the street. At night, the atmosphere is more sophisticated and romantic. Either way, this Bondi Beach restaurant is always packed. The menu changes constantly, under the careful direction of chef and owner Shane Lurie, but always includes classics such as lemon and herb chicken, leek and feta pie, and seared salmon salad.

Bai Yok

This is one of the city’s best Thai restaurants. Bai Yok opened in 1988 and offers a selection of some 60 different Thai dishes. Among the choices are marinated quail, spiced fish, curried shrimp and prawn salad.
