Papago Park (corner Galvin Pkwy. and Van Buren St., tel.602-256-3220) has always been one of the most popular parks in Phoenix, with its beautiful water-sculpted sedimentary rock formations and native flora and fauna in the middle of urban Phoenix. This park is the only National Historical Landmark in Phoenix.
The Desert Botanical Garden (1201 N. Galvin Pkwy., tel.480-941-1225, www.dbg.org) is located in the northeast corner of Papago Park. It is home to one of the world's foremost collections of desert plants. The Earle Herbarium is used by researchers who study desert plants and the Max Richter Memorial Library contains over 6,300 titles that are available to visitors.
