Las Vegas |
Set in the Nevada desert, Las Vegas has an extremely hot and dry climate in summer, while winters are chilly. In summer, the temperature often exceeds 40 ºC (100 ºF) or so. It seldom rains, but thunderstorms sometimes break out suddenly and cause short but heavy downpours. From December to February, the daytime temperature can be very comfortable, but evenings are somewhat cool, though the risk of frost is minimal. All in all, fall is definitely the best time of year to visit Las Vegas. Most of the state gets an average of only 100mm of annual rainfall, versus about 293 days of sunshine.
Since Las Vegas is located in the Nevada desert, the climate remains mild and dry almost all year, and though the temperature can rise above or drop below expectations, it remains, for all intents and purposes, ideal year-round.
