Because Miami is in Florida, the Sunshine State, it has a mild, semi tropical climate. Though the temperature sometimes rises or falls above or below expectations, it remains ideal year round. All in all, summers tend to be hot and humid. Winters are dryer, milder and sunnier. September to November is hurricane season, which not only affects Florida but the other Gulf and Southern Atlantic States. Though devastating at times, hurricanes are not dangerous enough to postpone your trip. Though they usually occur in September, hurricanes can appear much later in the season. Moreover, they are easily predicted by weather forecasts and numerous warnings are broadcast before they happen giving travellers ample time to prepare themselves or head farther. Finally, because there is aircondi¬tioning almost everywhere, Miami is pleasant any time of the year.
